If you join an Incredible Adventures Great White Shark Adventure in San Francisco as a “Topsider”, you’ll have an important role to play. Your responsibility is to scan the horizon for signs of shark activity and assist boat staff in “working the decoys”.
We do not use bait at the Farallones but we do use special seal-shaped decoys to help lure sharks near our cage and boat. To help make the plastic animals seem more lifelike, crew and Topsiders take turns manually moving the decoys through the water on a line.
We still have Topside space on several upcoming trips to the Farallones. Our season begins October 16th and concludes on November 21st. The cost is $475 for the all day adventure.
